Familial(Hereditary) Spastic Paraplegia

Abstract
|

|
A report is made oa a case of familial spastic paraplegia. The patient is 8 years old boy who has 5 siblings. Among 5 siblings 3 were afected in a same way. 13 years old elder brother is paraplegia-in-flexion now. This paraplegia-in-flexion followed by paraplegia-in-extension after few years. 6 years old younger sister has also paraplegis, which is somewhat milder than this case.
Among the various laboratory examinations including EEG, skull X-ray, spinal fluid, pneumoencephalography, one peculiar positive finding was the increased level of urinary 17-ketos teroids(13mg.%)
